There are a lot of project management organizations in Europe. Most of them pursue the goal of developing and promoting project management.

German-speaking organizations

GPM (Germany) - German Association for Project Management
GPM has been existing since 1979 and is an association including over 5,900 people, companies, authorities and universities. GPM pursues the goal of promoting project management particularly for education and further education as well as research and information in this field. GPM is the German representative of IPMA.
PMI (Germany) - Project Management Institute Berlin
The PMI has a lot of branches in Germany. This link includes the Berlin branch. You can also find further links to German pages and to PMI Germany on this website.
PMA (Austria) - Project Management Austria
The pma is an association whose members come from business, public administration and universities. The pma is a sub-organization of the IPMA.
SPM (Switzerland) - Swiss Project Management Association
The SPM is a nationally and internationally approved institution for project management and represents Switzerland as an executive member of the International Project Management Association (IPMA). SPM pursues the goal of establishing acceptance and of promoting project management with business, organizations and associations in order of making project management a central competence at all levels of education.

PMB (Belgium) - Project Management Belgium
PMB is a project management association consisting of project managers, academics and researchers. Its goal is the exchange of information and expert´s reports on project management. PMB´s most important issue is the continuous change of project management
Společnost pro projektové řízení (Czech Republic) - Project Management Association Czech Republic (SPR)
The IPMA Member Association in the Czech Republic.
PMAF (Finland) - Project Management Association Finland
PMAF is a meeting place for project management experts and developers of project thinking and knowledge. PMAF is a member of the international project association and publishes two project management magazines. Furthermore PMAF offers seminars, training and certification.
AFITEP (France) - L'Association Francophone de Management de Project
AFITEP was established in 1982 and is a member of the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC). AFITEP is a partner-association of SMP Switzerland.
APM (Great Britain) - Association for Project Management
Buckinghamshire is the domicile of APM. It is the biggest association in Europe and has over 15,000 members. Its major task is to develop and promote project management. Its strategy is based on the following five aspects: knowledge, professional development, membership, internationality and administration & controlling.
BAM (Great Britain) - British Academy of Management
In Great Britain the Union of Management Academies is represented by the BAM. BAM was established in 1986. Its major task is to represent the interests of management research with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
MPA (Great Britain) - Major Project Association UK
MPA was established by different enterprises in 1980. The reason for its establishment was to achieve communication and cooperation on the topic of project management. Meanwhile ministries, agencies, consulting agencies, politicians and building constructors are members of MPA. Members pay a monthly contribution, which provides the income of IPMA. These contributions are invested in training and IMPA events.
IPMI (Ireland) - Institute of Project Management Ireland
IMPI was founded in 1989 with the goal of supporting companies and individuals. IPMI is based on the following principles: organization, professionalism, education & research and standard & certification.
LNPMA (Latvia) - Latvian National Project Management Association
LNPMA is the leading project management organization of Latvia. LNPMA was established in 1998. Since 1999 the LNPMA has been part of the International Project Management Association of Switzerland. LNPMA offers seminars and develops services. Furthermore LNPMA organizes international management conferences and project management days in different regions of the country.
SPMS (Sweden) - Swedish Project Management Society
The Swedish ProjectForum has been working for the development of project management in companies and organizations for more than 30 years. This forum is the meeting place for project managers and project collaborators. Furthermore the Swedish Project Forum offers seminars and publishes a magazine.
IPMA (Switzerland) - International Project Management Association
The first organization for project management in Switzerland was IPMA. IPMA is represented in several countries and is linked to world wide organizations.
SMP (Switzerland) - Société suisse de Management de Projet
SPM was established in 1993 and is a partner-association of IPMA and spm. Its website is in French.
